Default Front Hood Shocks

Asked this question on another thread but is off the topic of that thread so will ask again here. Just bought my 1994 911 Cab and noticed during the cold weather the shocks don't hold the hood up. I asked my Porsche mechanic when it was in for tuneup and fluid changes and a few fixes found during the PPI and he said to wait!!! Said they might work fine this spring when not as cold. (Didn't think to ask him to try them once they were sitting in his warm garage for awhile) Any thoughts? Should I just finish out the Pelican part order tonight with a new set of shocks?? Thanks

might not be a bad idea. Once it warms up, the hood should pop right up once you spring the latch. Mine is slow right now, but holds position. Smokin had his in the garage for 3 yrs before he changed them, even though it sounds like it needed it for the last 3 yrs; point is they shouldn't spoil in the garage.

Bill... Marc just wrote an excellent tutorial that I used to change mine. I had the same problem... They worked okay in the warm weather but not in the cold. Check out THIS THREAD to see how to change yours! Don't wait 3 years like I did!

Yeah, I just changed mine out - shocks are cheap, don't wait.

Besides, you don't want to humiliate you're sweet ride by having to jam a tree branch in there to hold it up!
