Anthony, I would love to have a project like that. I want another 964 that I don't feel bad about gutting and making a light-weight monster out off.

Mr Wolfe, sadly these truly are becoming an endangered species. I was quite lucky to find one like this but it took me 4 years of looking to find the right one at such a reasonable price. I wish I could find a dozen more or go back in time and buy everyone I could. Hindsight truly is 20/20.

Recently acquired 1990 964 C2 with a few recent upgrades- 18" Speedline Cup replica wheels, Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires- 225/40 front and 265/35 rear, light ceramic tint applied to interior windows (except windshield). Some interior upgrades to come .... RS style.

Here's a shot of my car from the "10 years in the desert" thread. I shot this picture hoping to show the Fox river in the background but it didn't really show the way it did when I was standing there. But then I noticed that the wheels had lined up almost perfectly just where I pulled up so I decided to post it. The paint was recently corrected to remove the contamination from sitting outside for 3 years. This is a car that was not registered from 2000 - 2020 and hadn't run for at least 10 years when I started working on it. It has been cleaning up pretty well.

I'm insanely jealous of the Flying L folks collection. They have some of the only Rubystar 991 GT3 and GT3RS I'm aware of in N. America.

There are so many wheels that look great on a 964 but there is something about the Cup 1 that matches the smooth, uncomplicated 964 profile. The Cup 1 is not a particularly "pretty" or even light weight wheel. Actually very plain Jane but it has a quiet muscular look that works on the car. The 964's lacked chrome, bumperettes, scoops, accordion impact bumpers, and generally not much in the way of fender flares. The simple Cup 1 wheel seems right in line with the look on a stock narrow body 964. I see wheels that I say " wow that's nice looking" and they really make the car pop. However, for the understated look that to me is classic Porsche and REALLY 964 - I keep coming back to the Cup 1.

Our Macan have the Turbo Wheels/Multi-spoke and takes X4 the time for me to clean. I hope it improves after a good ceramic coat.

while I can do less than a minute to wipe the Cup1 wheel. 😇

For my NB, It feels like an ugly duckling story from the full OEM early 91 model I enjoyed, to where it is now. I really enjoy it in both looks and performance.
