Thanks guys, picked her up today after the new motor got setup. Lovely drive of the first few km.
I really love the new gauges, rounding up the retro style of the interior.

Ha, that is excellent. I was missing something to lighten up the monochromic interior. Some chrome in the interior will offer exactly that, and will go very well with the exterior. Sehr geschmackvoll.

Love the weave on the door panels, and also the way it was done throughout the cabin.
The green gauges are so, so nice. Great touch on the parking brake handle.
917 style wood shift **** might be classy too?

Shamless plug (we are site sponsors!), have 2 sets of these rare tequipment wheel and noticed that someone has installed them on a 964 before.
Just thought we'd stir things up a bit and see what you think!
Anyone here have these rare factory Dyno wheels on their 964?

This time I posted the pictures not in the backdate threat but here, because we have not yet decided, if we go the last mile (backdate the bodywork) with the targa too!
With our targa project we have 2 main objectives.
1. Find out the real cause and effect of any modification / change on a 964 we do in our projects
We had different breaks/suspensions/wheels/tires but also clutches/gearboxes/engines configured in our 6 projects. The weight varied from 1100 to 1300 kg.
When you drive the final product you immediately feel when something feels better or worse, but do you know the root cause?
Therefor we test the modification for at least 1000 km before we proceed ton the next step.
2. Better understand where the 964 market is going
We started our first backdate in 2010 when good donor cars were cheap, parts affordable and with enough talent you could build a car which looks and drives great!
And you got something which was unique or at least rare.
Now, the world has changed a bit (Singer, DP, Kaege, Speedlight Classic, ...... globally at least 20 tuners building such cars).
My estimate is, 300-400 backdates in the meantime and the market seems to ask for more ( if I may believe the guys).
95% coupès, so I decided my next project will be a targa.
And because we have changed the sequence of our project steps where bodywork is last,
we ended up with a 964 Targa Restomod which I actually like very much even without backdating the body.
We may extent the test phase, enjoy the summer season as is and postpone that decission to next fall.
Will post pictures as soon as we have installed few more chrome parts.

Took the car out last Thursday for a drive to WERKS then up the coast towards Charleston then back to Greenville. Great time, wild mix of weather. Continued to drive the car every day through yesterday (6 days straight.)
