I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this too. I'm a long-time subscriber to a couple UK Porsche mags and it seems like 964s were under appreciated world wide and only recently "discovered" and an excellence part of the 911's evolution. The UK was definitely ahead of the US though.

I'm vacationing in France right now and I've actually picked up a special edition magazine celebrating 80's cars! Cool shots of 80's Audi Quattros and such. They even did a head-to-head with a 1990 C2 and Ferrari 348. The C2 won of course! There seems to be a great revival for cars with a more simple, raw feel.

RichardJ,
I like your web site...You know someone is serious when they list "debadged engine lid" in the weight saving category:

Weight saving modifications include the following

Lightweight RS flywheel clutch
RS type non wiper rear screen
RS door cards, handles, with yellow pull ties
Teardrop door mirrors without electric motors
RS style air intake vents in bumper in place of foglights (not ducted throught to brakes yet)
Debadged engine lid
Odyssey lightweight battery PC680 6.1kg (drycell maintenance free battery with 680 cranking amps for 5 secs)

Great shots everyone (great to see new cars/owners), you guys are really making me miss my car!

Today 10 miles away from the "Nürburgring": empty roads - no police - a lot of fun

I don't like to tease, so here are some more...

The yellow Turbo S was the first car I saw as I got off the train station behind the Porsche Museum. Wish I could have gotten closer...

Randon 964 notes at the museum:
- Saw a nice 964 RS in for a suspension allignment. The 964 still looks great next to more modern Porsches!
- They removed the oil tray that was laying on the ground under the 964 Turbo. I was leaking last year, now it must be fixed?
- Also no tray under the Speedster (can't remember it one was there last year or not?
