Other than exact period correctness there's just no reason for a "2". A "4" is fine because it indicates AWD but there's no need to indicate 2WD. Obviously Porsche thought the same thing since there's never been a "2" since the 964 days. I'm sure they did it then because the C4 came out first.

I am planning to post a simple , silver 911 badge on the blunt end of mine when it get's a freshen up next year. Purchased from Bumper plugs.
I am with you John , who give's a toss about what's right / wrong. That's the whole deal about personnalising , it's the individuallity that makes this model of 964 so special. The 'black sheep' of the family as far as I'm concerned, but then every family's got one haven't they !!
Merry Christmas to all
Willie

Hmm - food for thought...OPC Nottingham have sent me a 964 Carrera badge and are getting the "2", so I'll take a photo. Thanks Marc (Shaw) for the sizes.
Given my midnight blue paintwork, I'm tempted to try a silver badge (in photoshop first!) - otherwise, I think I'll go with stock.

Just ordered a silver Carrera 3,6 emblem.. all metal and specially coated; special adhesive. The guy who makes them advertises on EBAY. It is something like JFP (Jewels for Porsches) and the guy seems to be a fanatic. Check it out, and I'll post a pic of mine when it comes in next week. Email me at jacque@touzetlaw.com if you have a problem finding the maker..

There is one artist in Greece, who makes signs, true the originals, but in real silver. Just bought one, superb. They look best on dark cars. He is:
Lefteris Trochalidis
leftis@hol.gr
Or look at his website: http://www.Car-Gems.com
Excellent service, excellent communication.
(Absolutely no affiliation etc.)

Hi Rob,
I've driven behind your car on a number of occasions and to be honest, the standard black script is almost invisible on your colour car. I'd be more inclined to go with your silver idea or leave it off.
Cheers, and happy Xmas!!

hi Rob
My C2, TBK 373, is on the front cover of the Jan issue of ' Porsche 911 world ' - inside are a number of shots
My original badge was removed by Porsche when they changed and painted the engine lid under warranty - I was told by Porsche that the original script was no longer available - they put the Carerra script on the back, and did a poor paint job
- I prefer stock !!!
