I'm looking to upgrade my rear brakes to four piston calipers and I'm not sure if the calipers I'm looking at are correct. They apparently came off of the rear of an 87 S4.
Ebay item number: 8022993877
I know I'll have to get a bias valve, as well.
Thanks.

I just did this upgrade. Took it out for the first time tonite. Cant tell any real difference but the pads were cheaper and they look good painted. The 55 bar valve was cheapest at Sunset Porsche when I got mine. Shop around.
The ones on there dont look right to me. If I remember you have to change some hosese and maybe reverse them to get them to fit on a 964. I believe those are trailing brakes and our are up front. Maybe some one else will tell you for sure. Also a bit expensive.
You have a PM on a possible source

Thanks Jim. I was curious because they said they need to be modified to fit a 944 turbo. So I assumed they must be leading instead of trailing.
Thanks for the contact information. I'll see what they have available.

I used a set frm a 944 turbo and they have to be reversed. It was easy to do, just swap the cross over line. You have to check to make sure the pistons are correct. Some 944 turbos came with calipers that are not compatable.
I paid $250.00

The easiest move is to grab a pair od 993 rear brakes - they bolt right on and you don't need to change anything -
Ther is an excellant article on this in the PCA mag - I copied and can fax if you send me your numbers - or email as I also have as scanned info but it is to large to post here.
I changed my front and rear over to 993's -

Here's a LINK to a summary of Porsche Calipers. Make sure the one your buying has the correct T/L pistons for your car.

Any of the Brembo 4 piston rear 928S4 or 944T calipers will work if the bleeds and feeds are swapped. They are all 28/30 which is what a stock 964 wants in the back.
The funky calipers were some of the fronts from those cars.
You do not want 993 rears unless you also have 993 fronts. While the calipers external size is the same as a 964s the pistons are too big for use w/ stock 964 fronts.
Hope you all find the brake page usefull.

The euro RS used 322x32 w/ 993 calipers on the front and 299x28 w/ wide 993 calipers on the back
