Default Adjustment of bonnet / hood latch

Guys,
Just wondering what adjustability there is on the latch mechanism for the bonnet catch (hood for those of an American disposition !) ? Having never had an issue before all of a sudden I am struggling to get the latch to click shut. It just wont go down the final notch and pops back up to the 'tripped' stage. I'm sure there must be something that's not properly aligned - any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Jamie

Try lubercation first if you havent already. The lock May not be moving all the way. Its a PITA to get it adjusted or was on SC and they look almost the same.

I'll give it a go with the WD40 at the weekend - though it doesn't feel like that's the problem. It seems more like the bonnet isn't closing far enough for the catch to, errr, catch ! I've tried screwing the little rubber stops on the bottom corners of the leading edge of the bonnet, though this doesn't seem to have achieved much. I've recently had a load of front bodywork done, which included removing the bonnet and front wings. It was fine straight after the work, but now that it's all 'settled down' it seems that it's not quite lined up properly.

The latch part below is adjustabe; the screws can be loosened, it can be moved up or down, and then retightened. Loosen yours, move it up ever so slightly, retighten, and try it. It may take more than one try to get it just right. You do want it just barely clicking closed with a firm push so it's tight enough to not allow water to enter the trunk while driving in the rain.
