Rick,

Looks a nice ride.

I am one of those 964 v 996 people, had two 996's a C4 and C2 ...... just not for me.

Back to where I started with the 964 and can't see me ever changing, well maybe for a 993 as I had two of those and loved them !

Good luck with yours.

Mark

Thanks Mark - I think you have commitment issues though!

Rick,

What do you mean by commitment issues ?

I intend to keep the 964 for as long as I can, the newer models just do not have the appeal for me.

I was just laughing 'cause you've been through all those Porsches, then you said you might go to a 993 (but you've had two of those!).

I'm on my second Porsche in 4 years - I'm going to have to really pick up the pace to get close to you!

Rick, any chance of some pics of the 2 rides together once you've got the new addition home and cleaned up etc??

Howard,

I'm planning on it - I'm even going to climb on the roof for some birds-eye photos!

2 more weeks...

Here's what I think is another good comparison. Fast forward to 2008-2009. What's the better choice - a used Cayman S coming off lease or a nicely set up 964 w/ a 3.8 in it?

I know, two more weeks. I try to tell myself it's a "good thing", since I can focus on the "kids" and the "wife" for the "holidays", but secretly I just want to fly back out to Charlotte (has the ice melted), grab it out of the lot and drive it home myself. Argh.

I love the 356, the new GT mag just did a big deal on it (or was that 911&PW? Or Excellence? Or Total911?). I'd actually consider a 912 - I think that would be a hoot, with all of 90HP. You can get it in great 70's colors too, like chocolate brown, burnt orange and avacado green.
