Dual exhaust bumper cut out

Dual exhaust bumper cut out
To those who have installed a dual exhaust:
Did you buy the "correct" piece and have it painted or did you cut your bumper? If you cut, are you satisfied with the look or do you wish you had bought the pre-cut piece?
Thanks!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the heat shield also has to be re-cut on the L/H/S,. When replacing the three aft heat shields two years ago that was one of considering factory replacement options, with or without the exhaust tip bore, the L/H/Side is different then the R/H/Side. Advice do it correct, things get very hot under there,. Free advice from,. and,.( pingo you are right, I only just saw your post)

if you look at the 964 tip heat shield , you will see it is a piece bent , trimed and rivetted on .
when i fitted mine , porsche uk were quoting 180.00 (ish if i remember) and 6 weeks wait as they had none at stuttgart and would have to "make" one ..........................................
guess what i did !!!!!
i bout my side piece from design 911 , got a deal when i bought the fabspeed .
they're all fibreglass as far as i know , and this one fitted ok after a bit of trimming by the bodyshop .
you have to drill rivets etc. on your original one and drill holes in the new one to fit support piece etc.

Since you are on the subject of heat shields, have any of you had issues with rattling heat shields during idle? Mine comes and goes and i can't sem to tighten them enough. before I bring it to my shop to have them look at it, any suggestions I can do myself?

Beyond the body screws, I can only say have a good look and feel, there are other under body panels that can rattle at tick over,. It’s very hard sitting at my desk in France to help you, but ask a friend to help, one behind the wheel and one underneath aft, looking and listening, good luck!!..
