Careful with the stainless steel bolts. I can't recall the exact issue, but I read an interesting thread here a while back leaving me with the distinct impression that I should never use stainless bolts on my car.

I understand the structural issues, I also understand the electrolytic issues, However I do not believe them to be a problem in the location concerned, though thanks for the heads up.

Cool. Sorry if I was pointing out the obvious.

Cheers,

No worries, its always wise to point things like this out for folks to see that don't understand there can be problems with stainless etc.

I need to refurb a set of 4-piston rears I've acquired, and just got the prices for the piston seals and spring plates from an OPC - ouch!

The seals are £13 per piston (just the seals, not pistons as well), and the spring plates are £15 each. So the total inc. VAT and a 10% PCGB discount for 8 seal sets and 4 spring plates is about £170!

Ian. I just recived this e-mail from true choice. do you have the part numbers for the seals so I can reply cheers.

"We might have what you are looking for in stock, but unfortunately we cannot find out for you which

part numbers you need. We do not have that information. You would have to find out the Brembo numbers yourself and then let us know."

I will have 4 spare calipers in a few days which I will refurbish before fitting to the car and then will refurbish the old ones and either sell them on or keep for spares so a cheap source for seals would be a big help.

Hi Pesty, I don't have the Brembo part numbers for the seals. The Porsche part nos for the seal kits are (though these might include pistons):
40mm – 951.351.919.11
36mm – 951.351.919.10
30mm – 951.352.919.11
28mm – 951.352.919.10
(fronts are 40/36, rears are 30/28)
The Brembo casting numbers for the rear calipers are 20.4673.00 (inner half) and 20.4672.01 (outer half), don't have the fronts as I haven't taken them off. Some suppliers can find out the appropriate Brembo seals from the caliper casting numbers.

I have part numbers for two of the Brembo dust boots:

36mm - 20 4872 44
40mm - 20 4872 46

The pressure seals have no part numbers on them but they are color coded:

36mm - WHITE BLUE BLUE BROWN
40mm - BLUE RED RED BROWN

I also called TrueChoice this afternoon but got stuck in voice mail, I will try again tomorrow.

I tried aswell to get the parts via Brembo but no joy. Just like with some Bosch parts it seems to be impossible to get some parts directly from the manufacturer. Good luck.

I just spoke with TrueChoice and with the part numbers I have he was able to find the dust boots (and the boots for the rear calipers) in stock for $6USD. I don't have the part numbers for the seals but they can find them. So it will end up costing a little bit less than what StopTech ($50USD/caliper) is charging.

Hi all,

Got a reply from StopTech.

They have the pressure seals and dust boot for

38mm and 28mm

but not the 32mm !!!

So if you are using the GT3 Mk2 6 pots calipers, you are one piston size short for the repair.

Does truechoice carry 32mm seals and dust boot ?

cheers
James
