HI,
I guess I would agree with you guys about having a good CD player and that's one reason that I replaced my factory unit. But when you put a new head unit in it is also desirable to have it work like it should and get great radio reception also.
If I had that great looking Denison unit installed, but could get no reception, I would be working to the death to improve the reception and make it work as it should.
That's kind of the way I am, "If it's there, I want it to work."

p.s. You can customize the start-up and shut-down screen logo so I put on the "Carrera 4" that I Photoshop'ed from my avatar.
Oh yeah - cig. lighter out as I had the trickle charger on.

After reading this post and being tired of very poor radio reception - I decided to pull the unit for another look. Sure enough, the very thin wire that runs through the center of the antenna cable was cut.
After about 20 minutes of fiddling to get the wires re-attached (I almost called my surgeon brother-in-law) and everything back in place, the reception was awsome. It made my day.
Thanks again to Rennlist!

You can't replace just the antenna lead, either, as it's hard wired into the booster. I bought a replacement from Parts Heaven (~$40) and now I have reception again.

The coax in mine"fell apart"when I tried to repair it.Every time I would move it,it would brake futher up.I really enjoy radio,so I rigged an antenna that hides in the back seat. Its ok,but it could be better. When I remove the back seat ,I most likly will run a coax to the rear window(top middle)It should be fairly easy to hide the coax, and I wont have to deal with this pos coax anymore.I have a 69 Ford Fairlane,it gets great reception with the origanal coax. You would think with as much as a Porsche cost thay could at least use some decent coax.
