Please help! Broke the B-Pillar at the weekend due to motor/cable/transmission problems, but I have the option of a good complete 993 roof. Is it a direct fit? Thanks for the help as always guys!

Call it a rhetorical question!! The answer is NO! Back end of a 993 is different!

Shane....My story, I asked the same question at Porsche AG, and was told," no", yet I‘ve seen 993 soft-tops installed on 964’s. Out of stock in Germany, after searching every corner of our planet Earth, finally I found my, cobalt blue soft top, made from the, 3 layer glued fabric that is made today in Germany for the Cabriolets of today. With the fabric design (zigzags) anti this and anti that, the, ORIGINAL FACTORY SPEC. COLOUR is very important! The material from Germany goes to Calif. and is cut there, for the American market, then, in my case, it was sent back to Northern France, (300 miles from Porsche AG) and finally sent to Southern France for the installation on my 911/964, to your left, phew!! Okay, the name is; GAHH,INC, N.H. CALIFORNIA which is stamped on the plastic aft window, contact them, they should know, they do the cutting, the studs and first fitting. My installation was perfect thanks to a computer factory cut duplicated by GAHH Inc,. Click on my site below there’s 4 or 5 pics. of the refitting. What I like about the 964 roof is the zippered aft plastic window; at speed I leave it open, kind of a targa effect for air. What I did change was the elec. relay a few weeks ago, read that story, tell me what you think. All the best, with far too many words,

You can buy a 993 style roof lining that fits directly onto the 964 frame and essentially give you exactly the same look as the 993 style roof, with the square rear window and IMHO a better looking and more modern style roof.
I think a complete, full 993 system WILL fit in place of the 964 mechanism.
I will post pics and contact details later tonight, of where to get the roof lining via mail order from the USA...
I fitted the new roof myself (not recommended for the faint hearted or someone with little patience!)

Yes, a 993 complete top assembly will fit on a 964 without modification...I have performed this swap.
