Friday again- time for assessment
Well, I can say this is going to be an interesting year and winter for the car, the family, and the people close enough to get caught be schrapnel. I can also say be careful what you ask for, cuz you just might get it.
I learned there are people willing to help fulfill a dream, or just help out on a project. I may be taking some people up on those offers; one is already in the works- thanks Aaron @ Imagine Auto. RDR- keep those tools handy; I'll need you and them before too long.
The house plans are getting closer to finalized, and the new garage will be a big help, but I could use it now.
My son is smart enough to take ACT/SAT tests early, but not ambitious enough to do homework; just like his dad was.
Hmmm- guess that's all for now. What about you?

Going to be a beautiful near high 80 degree top down driving weekend with a PCA autocross on saturday! Spending the afternoon after work peeling the newspaper off that blew up on my new to me calipers while painting them , doing a bit of sanding and finishing them off. Got the 55 bar bias valve and picking up pads and sensors at noon after work. All my women friends are pissed at me so dont have to deal with them this weekend and can play with the car
TGIF!!! One more bath and coat of wax for the Porsche is needed though I probably won't have the time for it this weekend. (We're either traveling or hosting.) I've put in a lot of hours this week and am glad the weekend is here!
Remicade treatment is this morning so I'll have some time this afternoon to at least catch up on paperwork but not much else.
Hawk... Congrats on your son taking the SATs early! Sounds like me in high school too... All the ability but no discipline to do it all by the numbers. He will change when he hits college!

It has been a bit of a roller coaster for me lately. More work related travel than usual and my kids and wife are a bit on the edge for not having daddy around. I get back last Friday from Colorado Springs to learn that my uncle (who has lived in my parents house as long as I can remember) is in intensive care. So I fly Saturday morning to be there with him. Not much to do as the liver is gone and they are giving him anywhere from 5 days to a month. He is in good spirits and joking all along but fully aware of the situation. I returned Monday and all I want is to stay home with the kids and wife but there is work I must return to.
There are a lot of activities this weekend. As Jim mentioned, there is the PCA Autocross, GM is doing their test drive event (I wanted to drive the Corvette C6 and the Saab convertible), I wanted to just head on the motorcycle for a long ride, etc. So not really sure what I will end up doing. Most likely I will end up taking the family to a lake in the boat and spending some good quality family time.
Car has been great (heck! I have not had a chance to use it that much). I need to take time to clean, wash, and polish it.

Sorry to hear about your uncle Jaime. Wondered where you disapeared to the last couple of weeks!
Maybe we will meet up at the rally at the Audi place next weekend.

Got our first snow today.
Almost time to put the Porsche away.
My wife's Grandmother just passed away.
A good friend lost their house and all their possesion in a fire this week (no injuries).
Hmm. I sound like Kirk.

I learned that replacing the weatherstripping on the cabrio roof that touches the top of the door windows is a lot easier than it looks. I have had drips on my leg every time it rains so purchased new seals. Thanks to the fellow RennListers explaining the procedure and seeing the new ones, I put the top down and yanked out the old ones. They were very tattered and the rubber was stiff. The new ones are soft. I was able to install both sides in 15-30 minutes, including breaks to go get the liquid soap from the kitchen. It hasn't rained since but I'm confident it will do the trick. This was a repair long overdue.
Some good vibes going out to all that are struggling with lifes trials. Jamie, hope your Uncle finds peace before too much pain sets in. Marc- you need a bit of good luck your way too. Take care guys.

I am happy to have my wife home from the hospital today. I am sad to hear about Jaime's uncle. Make the best of the time you have together.
This has been a super tough year for my wife and I. Lost all three of my Grandparents over the course of two months, a failed IVF attempt with my wife and now she has a 6mm kidney stone that has had her in the hospital twice this week after three ER visits.
Better times surely are do us. Ok, I'll quit playing the violin now..
