Default Speedometer and horn are dead.

Tonight I was on my way back from the gym when I saw a friend of mine driving in the opposite direction. When I honked my horn, it died in "mid-honk" and my speedometer died along with it. My spoiler also automatically went down, but I was doing about 40mph.

So I think to myself, "WTF?"

Suddenly, about a mile or two down the road, I made the turn onto my street when the speedometer suddenly started working again, but the horn did not. I decided to keep driving for a few more miles to see what would happen, and the speedometer and the spoiler both worked normally the whole time. They have been fine since. However, the horn is still dead.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Thnx
-Harry

Shameless bump.

On the face of it, those things seem kinda remote from one another, so I'm betting on a dodgy ground, just because about 90% of 911 electrical glitches involve a ground that's gone bad (OK, I made up that statistic, but it's a lot of 'em .) I'm hoping somebody smarter'n me'll weigh in to point you in the right direction...

Yeh, im thinking it may be something with a ground as well, but I have no idea where to start looking. It seemed that making that turn in the car is what made it the speedo, etc turn back on.

I just installed a new Alpine head unit about three weeks ago. I wonder if that could suddenly have something to do with it?

I was going to check the fuse, but I didn't since the speedo started working again. I figured that if it were a fuse, the things that stopped working would have never started working again since once a fuse is blown, it's blown.
I shouldn't be lazyabout it though so I will go grab my Bentley book and check in a few minutes. No work today so I have nothing to do anyway. Just waiting on UPS for my tires.
