Default Sweepstake anyone?

As you may remember, my car is in the hospital and I thought it would amuse some to take part in a sweepstake. To set the background, the car arrived at 9M at around 1830hrs on Friday 28th September. It has hot start problems and needs fixing. I would ask you to give me your guesses for the following:

1. When will 9M contact me to let me know what is going on with the car? I need day and time to say the nearest half an hour. I will not be calling them to chase.

2. How much will the fix cost? (I do need new brake pads and some other minor stuff and I will strip that out of the bill). I think it should be OK to the nearest pound sterling....

Anyone?

What's th background on 9M:
Good shop, but snobby?
Inexpensive shop, but not very timely?
Just busy?

IMHO, 9M are great but sometimes it can take a little while to get things done because they are very busy.

Ok, i'll play.
I think you won't beable to resist calling but if you can you'll get a call next Tuesday. The price , excluding the brakes will £377.25 +vat, most of which will be labour, 5% of that will be for parts.

Christer,

Will they add the cost of the phone call to the bill? I bet you won't get a call; instead just a bill for £638 in VAT.

My entry is as follows:

02/11/05 Colin at 9M begins work on it.
04/11/05 Colin finds out what the problem is and fixes it.
01/02/06 Colin tells someone in the office that the car's fixed.

Cost - £500.

called today at 8.50am, £411.25

So now all we need to do is check/change the brake pads, fix the door lock and findout whether I really have a slow puncture and then we are in business (after I empty my wallet yet again)

So what did they do - just replace the starter motor? Do they believe this is the only reason for the hot start problem? Do they believe in Santa?

Apparently they have tested it by getting the car nice and hot and restarting it and there is now no problem. Colin wants to update the Motec with some new settings though.....and of course I have yet to hear whather one of the small tyres on the rear will need replacing...

That would be £250+VAT for part, and the rest on labour. This compares favourably with Camtune £250+VAT for part and £119+VAT for labour, and the Stratford OPC who quoted £250+VAT and £250+VAT labour...
