Question Ignition Upgrades

I'm curious if anyone has upgraded any ignition components and would like to share their experiences?

I would especially like to hear about Nology products such as the ProFire coil (or any other uprated coil) and the HotWires spark plug wires (Nology warns about possible radio interference).

Hi Rob:

The OEM ignition system that you have is very well done and you will not find any discerable improvement with an aftermarket product.

IMHO, the stuff from Hotwires are pure snake oil. A local client recently decided to take a chance and install these plug wires onto his car. When the car started, his electric garage door openers went nuts, due to the huge amount of RFI and the doors started going up and down all by themselves until he switched the engine off.

We have tested these on our engine dyno with no change whatsoever compared to a new set of Bosch or Magnecor wires. If a car needs wires then its possible that ANY wires will be better than a misfiring set, but I would advise you to avoid the dubious products that this outfit makes.

Th stock Bosch coils and Factory wires will serve you quite well so save your $$$ for other stuff,...........
