2 short beeps after turning car off?

2 short beeps after turning car off?
Every now and then when I turn my Porsche off and open the door (after taking the keys out of the ignition) I hear two short beeps. Nothing is left on... Headlights are off, windows are up, etc. What does this signify?

I don't think it's my alarm. It normally happens when I turn off my car, take the keys out of the ignition and open the door in a somewhat rapid process. If I wait for a minute or so after I turn off the ignition before opening the door(take off seatbelt, gather things up) it doesn't happen. Does the alarm make the beep sometimes and not others?

I asked the guy who fitted my cat 1 alarm about thi and he told me it was part of the standard alarm system, basically its to signify that the imobiliser has been enabled.
Check it out....after hearing the beeps try to start the car!....in mine it won't start until I push the alarm disable.
