Anyone installed a Ruf-like front lip/splitter?
I ordered one from Rennspeed a while back.
http://www.rennspd.com/P_Detail.asp?PID=429
Now I am trying to install this on my C2, but the bottom part of the splitter does not extend far enough back to reach the mounting holes below the bumper?
Anyone installed one of tehse before that can tell me what I am doing wrong?
thanks,
anthony

I installed the real thing, from RUF. Have you lined up the screw holes in front, put in two or three screws to position it, then seen where the other holes line up?

I have the RUF spoilerlip as well. When you install it, you have to start in the middle, then work your way to the sides of it as Bill said above. It should be a very straight-forward installation.

I've tried to line up the splitter with the bumper mounting holes, but the splitter does not reach far back enough.
If you look at the picture attached, the bottom section of the splitter(red circled) should reach far back enough for me to line up with the holes of the bumper bottom panels (red circled). But it doesn't, it doesn't go back that far.

Two questions:
#1. Do the holes in the spoilerlip and the bumper mounting holes line up linearly with the same spacing? In other words, if you were to be able to push the spoilerlip far enough back (down) on the bumper, would all of the holes match for sure?
#2. How far 'off' are the holes as of now when the spoilerlip is properly fitted to the bumper?
Could be a machining/drilling error in the plastic of the spoilerlip, but that's highly unlikely given how many of these they make in a production run. Hard telling from here. This shouldn't be anything other than straight-forward though.
You may be able to "start" some of the screws into the holes with the spoilerlip not totally in place, then try to CAREFULLY sort of "snap" it into place, if you can imagine what I'm saying...

Mine is not from Ruf.
The problem is not that the holes don't lines up. There are no holes on the splitte. But more importantlly, it doesn't extend far enough on the bottom to be attached to the bottom of the car.
I've been trading email /w the manufacturer. He says it should be attached to the urethane piece on the bottom of the bumper. I will try fitting again this weekend.

I ordered my front bowplane from rennspeed. There were no holes drilled but you could see where they were supposed to go because the casting marks were visable. I needed to drill some of the holes slightly off from the casting marks for a proper fit. You may need to do the same.
