German VIN Search
Is there a way to do a VIN search on the web for a German car similar to what Carfax does in the US? I do speak a bit of German, so even if the site is not in English that would be OK.
I have the VIN of a car that was just imported from Germany. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello
No, you only can contact the KBA and track down the last owner.
You also might can track down the test reports if you know where they made them.
Porsche can give you the cardex infos but they only say with dealer received the car and you have to ask the dealer for details.

Does anyone know how to contact the 'KBA'? I went to their website (www.kba.de) and it does not seem that you can get the info online.
I have the VIN of the vehicle that I want to buy and would love to talk to the last owner.
Thanks for any help...

Hello
Try this:
http://www.kba.de/Stabsstelle/Zentra...r_auskunft.htm
You will get the information about the last license plate and have to track down the plate in the license giving city.
But it is better and easier to track down the car with the papers you have:
German title ?
German License plate ?
Service Book ?
