Sorry to hear you've split up Bud! I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. Felt that my life had fallen apart, but in the end, it has got better!! Don't look back!
Good choice on the Plasma! Treated myself the other day for a new 20" iMac!! Well pleased with it!!
Don't want any excuses - see you on the 30th. I'm sure we can take your mind off your ex!!
Cheers, am a little gutted as I'm missing out on the 10 year MGF event tomorrow. Not feeling upto it. My car would have been one of the birthday cars. (I have an MGF as well). I just don't really feel upto going on my own.
I'll come out on the 30th. Might even have the car all polished up.
Sunil, polish that car, see you on the 30th. I can guarantee a 'bacon butty' will cure all, following research, it has been conclusively demonstrated to enhance the bodies ability to cheer up and face the future with a feeling of well-being. Raymond
Guys, I feel so bad about this, but I have booked a jolly day today, for me and the kids, great you may think, indeed it is, but........ we fly out on Saturday, returning, from Egypt, on Monday morning, I'm so sorry, at this late date to have to cancel.
I will make it up to you.............somehow.
Can I suggest we make it Sunday 6th November, and to compensate, I'll not only make bacon butties, but also scrambled egg and smoked salmon bagels.
I feel awful. The reality has only just kicked in, when, making arrangements with Corinne, who in my absence will be 'holding the fort' pointed out the meeting. My excuberence in Thomas Cook totally clouded my thought process for logic and reason.
I feel like a total s**t.
Raymond
Not sure whether to comment this one or the new thread now!
I wouldn't worry about it too much Ray. If we look back, there have been plenty of us who've said "I'll be there" and then nearer the time said "I can't make it after all". Just because it's your venue doesn't mean you don't get the same flexibility!
I guess the question is : what do we do now? It's usually not that easy to find a date when everyone is free so my feeling is that we stick to this date rather than move it to the 6th. We could meet somewhere else - or could still meet at Rays and just accept that we don't get bacon butties and will have to pay for our own drinks!
I must admit, that having said we should stick to the 30th, the 6th would work better for me. It looks like Kevin and Andy could make the 6th (even if Andy will be a bit tired).
OK - so let's propose we follow Raymond's suggestion and move it to the 6th, that way he can attend as well. If lots of people who were coming on the 30th can't make it on the 6th then I guess the 30th is still a backup plan.
So - Kevin, Andy and I (and Raymond!) can make it on the 6th. Who else can make it that day?
Yes, I'm pretty easy either way. I'm happy with the 6th if that's the consensus. I think it's better if Raymond IS there - it would seem a shame for him to miss out and I'm not sure I can bear that drive without the thought of those bacon sarnies in the back of my mind!!
