For anyone looking to buy the oft recommended Bosch silver battery, here's the info you need:

If you ask your factors for a battery for a 1989-93 model 964 they will give you a 6F (66amp hours): this is insufficient:the owners' manual states 72 amp hours needed for 964 coupe (and 88 for the cab - thanks Adrian)
You need to ask for the 7C (74 amp hours) which is listed as for coupes 1993 onwards - it fits my '90 fine, and should have enough juice to run in the winter with heated electric everything, lights blazing and Green Day turned up to 11!

And now the bad news - it didnt cure my abs/awd warn light troubles.. <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" /> Back to the drawing board..

Johnny,

If the battery did not cure you abs/awd issues, it could be your alternator or voltage regulator. My voltage regulator went & it meant that each morning I would get the buzzer etc. because not enough voltage was getting to the system quick enough.

It's worth a try anyways....

Andy
