Question Center Console Trim (photos)

Two pieces of center console trim in my C4 have taken a beating over the years from my right knee and come loose. You can sort of see from the photo below that the little plastic bits that held the metal spring clip in place have broken.

In the second photo you can see that the same thing has happened to the lower console trim.

For the groups benefit, the part number on the top piece of trim - the one with door lock is 964.552.535.00

The lower piece of trim - keeping in mind that I have a C4 Cabriolet - is part number 964.552.271.04. If you have a coupe, your part number will be different.

I'll call Porsche on Monday and order replacements. I have no idea what they'll charge me - I'll follow up with pricing info when I have it.

Chime in if you've had to replace these bits in your car!

....stopped by the parts counter this morning on the way to work. Cha-Ching! They wanted nearly $100 for one and $150 for the other! I never would have guessed a piece of plastic trim would be so expensive. Needless to say, I left in sticker shock.

Can anyone recommend another dealership that does mail order parts?

Stoddard and AJ USA. Good dealerships, but my guess is that there is price fixing, and you won't see a better price. Each has a Toll-free, so give it a shot.

I had to replace both trim pieces earlier this year. I got them at Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte, NC. they offer a PCA mail order discount if you ask. Prices at the time were:
Top: 964-552-135 01DB 65.00,
Bottom: 964-552-071031DB 90.00

I have a C2 so I believe the bottom part is different on a C4.

Hope that helps!

Horst - thanks for the tip. I've never done business with AJ USA before, but they hooked me up at a decent price too.

AJ USA Price for the top piece (door lock, central alarm, etc) was only $67.39 - Champion Porsche here in town was about $100

The lower trim piece (2 circular ***** - spoiler & 4 wheel drive diff lock) was a bit more at $113.27 - but much cheaper than the approx $150 I was quoted by Champion this morning.

....So thumbs up to AJ-USA! I'd buy from them again.
