Does anyone remember seeing a Tech article ( I thought it was in Pelicanparts.com but could not find it )on how to straighten out the smile on the lower portion of the bumper cap?
If so could you point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Here is the URL to John's 964 site, by far the most most informed site on 964s.

I am about to straighten my Frown/smile to. And I am wondering how to prevent this from reoccuring? My C2 Cab is stock but the springs are turned down to the lowest setting so I have scraped the nose twice on normal driveways entering parking lots. Must be a real trick to get a truely lowered car in & out of some places?
Has anyone thought of a stiffening plate or bar that might minimize the problem??? The old 911's would scrape on the torsion bar end cap and you could buy a 'Skid cap' to add on that would take the blow with out bending anything.

Jack, to date, I know of nothing that protects the front end of a 964. Funny, the 993s have a "boomerang" add on and you mentioned the caps that were available for the torsion bar covers on earlier 911s...they also had a rubber lip spoiler that was flexible.
Imagine having a full front splitter/spoiler on the front of your 964 and being lowered 1.7 inches like I am!
Your car has been lowered a maximum of 10mm(@3/8") using the factory shocks.
To answer your question, YES, I do have to be VERY careful when entering driveways, gas stations, etc. It still gets scraped every now and then...doh!!
