Removing the rear Carrera badge?
Has anyone successfully removed their Carrera badge from the rear of their car? I heard about using dental floss to "cut" underneath it - any comments? Any other way to remove it without damaging the pant?
I want to swap the black "Carrera 4" badge with a silver one so it stands out more.
Thanks........Marc

When I've removed stick on badges in the past they were ready to come off so I just pulled/peeled them off. Getting all the goo off the paint was the fun part. I've had good luck with "goo gone". I have also heard about the dental floss trick for removing the badges from several individuals.

Yes, dental floss is safe and will not harm the paint. Cut off a long piece and keep using a 'new' section as you go right to left.....of course you want to wash the area around the badge with some quick detailing spray/wax just to remove any dirt which may scratch the paint.
The dental floss with GoreTex is very strong and very smooth if you're so inclined.
After it's removed, the adhesive can be removed with GooGone, any citrus based cleaner, 3M adhesive/tar remover, etc.
Depending on outside ambient temperature, you can use a hair dryer (on LOW) to warm up the residual adhesive/foam to help with removal.

Once the emblem is off, its always a great time to clay the paint, then use 3M fine cut to get any accumulated oxidation off local to the emblem area.
One of the wierd options my 993 has is the emblem delete. Cool, easier to clean and wax

Mark when I cleaned my car after the wales run apart from noticing that a screw was missing I also noticed that teh Carrera badge on the back was peeling up at the edges also that there was years of built up polish in the gaps.
So I pulled it off, but it was a really hot day and that bit had been baking in the sun I think that helped.
Dare not tell you guys what I've replaced it with for fear of being ostracised from teh site
