Post Anyone seen "the car's the star"?

BBC World (satellite TV) are advertising a series called "the car's the star". It looks like one of the programs in the series is dedicated to Porsche 911s.

Has anyone seen it?

One of the cars in the shorts looks suspiciously like a Speed Yellow Turbo 3.6!

John

I have seen it, in fact I have it recorded on video.

It's OK but not a brilliant piece of work, it's about 20 minutes long not much about the 964 but predictably quite a bit about the '73 RS and the unfortunate image these cars had in the 80's.

Mind you if it were mine, it wouldn't be called "The car's the star", it would be called "The car's the asteroid on an irregular elliptical orbit"

Greg, it was definitely speed yellow and it definitely had the tea tray spoiler.

Unfortunately, this weeks program was on the '59 cadillac so I couldn't confirm any more details. I will watch out for the shorts again.

George, can you confirm the car in the program? Is it a speed yellow Turbo 3.6?

George, that may be in the program, but I just managed to tape the shorts and study it frame by frame (got to get a life). One of the cars in the shorts is a speed yellow turbo, but it looks like it could be either a C2T or a Turbo 3.6.

Greg, I don't think it's yours, this baby is fitted out for the track with aerodynamic mirrors set very close to the body, a la RSR. It also has air scoops in the front bumper.

Eight weeks and seven days until I'm back in the drivers seat, albeit only for two weeks. Going back to NZ for the birth of our new son...how to fit the capsule in the back...mmm - where there's a will there's a way

On the subject of Porsche on TV, there have been some decent programs on the History Channel and Speedvision lately.

There was a history of the 911 on the History Channel, a 2 hour show on Speedvision devoted to Porsche Racing, and there is an upcoming show (History Channel, I think), about Fredinand Porsche.

CAUTION: FOLLWOING IS A SHAMELESS PLUG!

I found these programs thanks to my TIVO. I have it set to search for and record all programs with the word Porsche in the title and/or discription. It works great, but every once and a while it does find an unrelated show that happens to have an actress named "Porsche" in it!
