Arjan

Thanks, we are dying of heat fatigue (hahaha) here in the UK and sorely need our aircons to work!

Would be great if we could get the other "fill" in the UK

Regards

Talking

Dear Arjan,
I know the stuff you mean. It is manufactured in Belgium if I remember correctly. Very expensive and very hard to get hold of. You can use this alternative (R12 "drop in")as long as you have no warranty issues. Those with extended warranties also need to take care because if you deviate from Porsche approvals they may not pay out in the event of a claim. For most of us this is not an issue but take care anyway,
Ciao,
Adrian

Cool

O.K. here it is,

I talked to the specialtis today, who fills end repairs aircond. in our dealerships [Opel].

The fill is called Di-24, and is made from a few sorts of "R"'s together.
It is hard to get, but it works he says, we use it for aprox. 5 years now.
Di-24 gives you aprox. 80% of cooling then R 12, but you do not feel that in your car.

Next week he is checking my pressures, if it's o.k. then I let it be that way, but else I fill it with Di-24.
No rebuild of your Arcond. needed.

Hopes this helps.
