Basically yep
It is actually safety issue rather than a balance issue. The 993 is the same.
Ciao,
Adrian.

Ok, everyone, concentrate, concentrate!!!
Remember my accelerometer problem?
Anyway, I took the car to the mechanic today. He opened both sensors, used an air hose to blow them out. You were all right. I got perfect brakes now. The breaking distance is short and the car grips the road like a just-released convict grabs a woman.
However my ABS light and PADS light come on whenever the car is on an incline or decline. (These lights did come on before the procedure, but only at start up and only for a short while)
The computer test shows a "longetudal acceleration sensor" failure. So either we damaged it or it was gone beyond repair.
I guess all is left is to replace the accelerometer. I found a used one for $800cdn. Which is not bad - the new one here is $3047.
Please send condolences to the address above....

Default Accelerometer

Try this guy, he sells quite a few 964 parts on ebay - no affiliation, have bought various bits from him no problems. He did have an accelerometer for sale at 99 Euros - nothing listed at the moment, might be worth contacting him via ebay.
