Question Broken seat adjuster switch

hmmm...got in the car last night and managed to deliver a well-placed kick to the drivers electric seat switch. The front height adjustment no longer works..(the switch fell off). The other works fine.

Does anyone know if the switch is replaced as a complete item, and how much I should expect to pay?

I'm sure I'm not the first person ever to do this...

I've had two fail. The first time, I paid my mechanic who carged $125 for the part and $125 for labor. The second time, I decided to try it myself. The single 4-way switch costs approx $85 and is simple to install. You have to remove the seat from the car so that you can route the cable. It took me about 30 minutes to complete.

Thanks Rob - somehow I knew it wasn't going to be a £5 fix!

I just replaced the forward switch on the drivers side. $45 from Sunset Porsche, then you need to unbolt and tilt up the seat bottom to get access to the wiring harness, wire ties, etc. The switches have different part #'s due to the different wiring harnesses attached to the replacement switches.

It almost paid for itself because of all the coinage I found.

Rob,

Be sure to specify if the switch is 2-way or 4-way. They are different. My $85 price was for a 4-way.

Thanks Rob; mine's the (cheaper!) 2 way thankfully.

Update: £45 from OPC; have ordered one, along with a new warning triangle (£13) and a new brake pedal rubber (£forgot to ask...)
