Talking Bridgestone S02

Hi

Am having some trouble getting hold of 17" bridgestone S02 N2 rating. Still have the front 2 tyres in good shape but need 2 rears.

I have been offered a pair of N3 rated bridgestones, but i was told they are a different compound and may affect the handeling.

What do you suggest, go with the N3 rated bridgestones or has anyone else mixed bridgestone fronts with another set of rears. I know this does not give good handeling but i thought a few of you may have found some compatable tyres.

Regards
Rob

Ps i am in Jersey, UK so i have to order them from the UK anyway, none on the island.

Alas the Bridgestone S-02 are no longer made. I'd go for a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport all round.

Dear Rob,
You never mix N rated tyres on a 964. In fact on any Porsche. It has a negative affect on handling.
You use all the same N rating or all the same non N rated tyres.
If you can get the 17 inch N3s I would do this. They are rare.
N3 just tells you that they were built and approved to a different set of specs (no idea what they are before you ask) as compared to the N2s.
Ciao,

Same brand
Same model and or tread pattern
Same age
Same N rating or no N rating.
Do not mix any or all of above.

There's a long thread on SO2 v. SO3 on the 993 board.

Did you try Micheldever? I got a set of 17" S02 N2 from them in May.

Rob, was in exactly the same position as yourself (almost new fronts) keep trying there are lots of SO2 rears out there. I found some.
Dont mix N2 and N3 spec tyres was what an email from Bridgestone told me.

High,
Bummer, I'm in the oppisite position, I need a set of 17" fronts, my rears are almost new, I waited to long to put the new set of rears on, now the fronts are getting to worn, but I have a N3 rating, good luck, Geo.
