Replace electric spoiler with stationary tail?

Bill made a good point, so if/when you turn your C2 back to stock for the descriminating buyer in the future...the paint isn't all "galled" up from the tail base.
BUT, Michael Shaw provides the factory beading for a 930 tail when you purchase the wing...make sure you make mention of it - you'll have to trim to fit...which is NO problem.
Here's a "more fun"and recent pic of my car with the M.A. Shaw tail and spoiler:
It was real fun to do...heck, matched my yellow track wheels anyway! I did this just prior to leaving for the Club Race in Iowa (June) and have left the graphics on for a few months now...I'm slowly removing them, a few dots here and there.

Here's a close-up of my MA Shaw RSA wing (which has the gasket supplied by MA Shaw with the wing).
By the way, Jeff, those graphics look awesome! Are they magnetic or stick-on?

That must be new,as a few years ago he wasn't providing it when I bought the tail for the SC. Good to know - thanks!

Funny! But I think that would be a dead give-away that I may be exceeding the posted speed limits in order to fully utilize the aerodynamic capbilities of the wing/spoiler.

You mean Music 6000 in Olympia! Yes... The previous owner own's a business across the street and I live not a 1/2 mile away. I'm also a drummer and visit Music 6k quite often. We'll have to get together and have a mocha and exchange notes sometime.

J-McDonald, they're just vinyl graphics...started pulling them off the other day - they come right off if I leave the car out in the sun all day and the paint surface is warm.
Jon, that is definitely the coolest wing yet!

So,
There's this rumor in the Weird NorthWest that Porsche and Boeing are designing a supersonic Suv ... that will also compete in NASCAR !
One way to fix the traffic problem in Seattle?

Yes... I play with a group... I bought the 964 because it has a nifty drumstick holder in the front bonnet. At least I think that what it is for? Of course, there is no room for my drums, but at least the sticks are safely secured on-board.

Still researching this topic. Thank you everyone for your help...
I've found two different spoilers that I like... one at MA Shaw (RSA wing), and two through Vertex. My problem is that with a 1990 body (automatic spoiler), I will need to likely replace the deck lid or permanently destroy it when I bolt-on the one-piece spoiler. I don't see these lids available used, so I am looking for an aftermarket version? Any ideas of where I can find one?

BOB! ...as explained previously, you will not damage, alter, ruin, mangle, scratch, dent, destroy or basically "F"-up your factory deck lid if you use the bolt-on RSA one-piece tail offered by MA Shaw.
All you have to do it remove the "pop-up" spoiler and the MA Shaw RSA tail is designed so that it fits down in the recessed area, snugly, where the pop-up spoiler used to reside.
The original six bolts that hold down the pop-up spoiler's assembly now holds the fiberglass tail on, nice and snug.
It's a really nice fit, and again, Michael includes a factory 930 tail base gasket that you trip to fit for that finished look.
Okay, I'm starting to feel like a serious salesman here...so the disclaimer - yadi yadi yadi, not affiliated, just a satisfied customer.

Bob - Jeff is correct - **no** modifications to the decklid of my car (which is identical to yours) were necessary to bolt-on the MA Shaw wing. You simply unbolt the motorized wing and reuse the bolt holes left by the motorized wing to bolt on the MA Shaw wing.
This was one of the main advantages to the MA Shaw RS America replica wing, as compared to other wings - since it uses the factory holes, you do not need to drill any holes in your decklid.
Good luck!
