Hi,
I wonder, the ones who drive much autocross and on race tracks, did you had ever had any extra repairs on your engine?? [because of the track use]
I mean a pre mature rebuild, leaks etc.
Tanks for any specific details and Milage/KM's

Personally, I find it very difficult to differentiate the repairs that are due to premature wear from track driving and those that are not.
I did, however, have a rear wheel bearing that went bad recently. I accused the bearing of failing due to track driving, but the bearing denied it, claiming that it was just "normal wear". Suspiciously, the bearing wouldn't make eye contact though, so I suspect that it was lying.
You'll have to draw your own conclusions, however.

I've only owned the car for the last 15K miles. During that time, I ran 16 track days and 6 autocrosses. At autocross, I felt the roughest part of the event was idling in hot weather while waiting for each run. The engine oil temp climbed past the half way mark which made me a little nervous. At the track, I'm constantly pushing it and have hit the rev limit many times.
The recent 75K-mile leak down test showed pressure loss of 4-5% across all cylinders which are reasonably good figures. So there's no need for a rebuild in my near future (I hope!).

My current car has been tracked and autoxed by the PO and me for about 10 years with no engine work. I tracked and autoxed two Porsches for 10 years before that. I do have more frequent oil changes and regular service work than I would otherwise, however. I buy tires, pads, and rotors more frequently as well. I think tracking does put more stress and wear on the engine and other components, however. It's a trade-off that I, and many others, accept. In contrast, I don't think autox puts much extra stress and wear on the engine or other components, because the car is only driven hard for about 3-4 minutes per event.
There was a similar thread a while back that led to the question of how many highway miles are equal in wear to one mile on track. Someone even thought track miles produced less wear than highway miles. I can't buy that, but it would be very difficult to answer the question because different drivers wear their cars differently on track and on the highway. One could estimate average rpm in each venue, but that might not be a very good estimate of wear difference.

I have at least 50 weekends at the track on this car and have yet to claim a track-related casualty...unless you call a BROKEN swaybar a casualty??
The jury is still out on that one, but I believe it was cracked during the "incident" last Fall.
As far as engine wear, of course you're going to have some premature engine wear...just maintain the hell out of it by keeping the valves adjusted and change the oil regularly...that's all I've done!
I did, however, elect to rebuild my engine over the Winter in an effort to chase down some pesky oil leaks...they were getting pretty bad.
I didn't see anything worn beyond normal limits, the cams, valve train, pistons/cylinders all looked okay, although I did buy a set of late-style pistons/cylinders and heads so that I could implement a head gasket as the 1992 and later 964 engines had...I don't think it did a thing.
I had the crank micro-polished and re-assembled with fresh main/rod bearings...and updated rodbolts - of course!
I still some oil leakage, but I don't mind being that I've cured 90% of it, hard to tell where it's coming from...don't much care either, it's a 911, it's gonna leak!
Also, I have recently changed both of my rear wheel bearings out, just for precaution because stories from Manny and others were scaring the HELL out of me!
Once I got the old bearings out, they looked fine, but it was good insurance in my book to get fresh ones in there...next I plan to do the front...once I return from "Track Adventure 2003".
...next stop - Mid-America!!
