Idle question ????

Assuming the engine has even compression, a good O2 sensor, and the ignition system is in good shape, poor idle regulation is either the DME (better hope not), or the idle stabilization valve (ISV). There are posts on how to remove and clean the ISV. I have not needed it yet, but it looks like an easy job. The ISV is the ~ inch diameter aluminum cylinder clamped high on the engine.
Troubleshooting the DME will require an oscilloscope. The first place to try is the ISV.
