Simon

I've been following this and similar threads recently - my decision will be to go with the secondary bypass. Not too expensive, easily reversed if I don't like it and an easy DIY job. Appears to get the noise vote too. I just don't know where priority lies between this and other jobs...

The 'dove' rip off refers to another thread - search for 'dove' and rip off!!

I already have Cat bypass (prevous owner) I will be doing primary bypass as well (the one that runs along under the muffler) - it 'seems' to be the most restrictive element and has the weight furthest from the cars centre.

But a drilled or cut away air box will give you a distinctive mid frequency howl right after 4k (sounds very impressive).

I would suggest doing the air box mod first and if that's not enough for you then do the secondary bypass. i think there are sound files of the secondary bypass somewhere. You might want to do a search in this forum.

Airbox clips broke and I found it more economical to switch the whole filter housing for an adapter and cone filter. Slight difference in sound.
Thanks again, all.

FYI, I was told by Joel Reiser to stay away from Secondary Bypass pipes that are configured in a V-shape (rather than a U-shape). I'm assuming that the bypass pipes from TYPE911 are the U-shape, but I don't know for sure.
