Does anyone know which stereo units were installed originally. Were they all Becker or Blaupunkt or something?

The reason I ask is that I have a Grundig unit with the 'designed by F. Porsche' etc. on the front and looks original. But I haven't seen one of these in another 964. The sound quality isn't actually all that bad either.

Mine had a Blaupunkt Toronto from the factory.

A "Porsche CR-1" (made by Alpine apparently) came on my '93 RSA. Sounded ok for 10 years (RSAs only had the two front speakers), then speakers and channels started going. Replaced with a better Alpine system for under $400 (including speakers) compared to $900 for the OE system.

 

My 90 C2 came with a Blaupunkt, I think it was a Reno 2.

 

My '91 C2 came with the Porsche "CD-2" AM/FM/in-dash CD player (which I heard was manufactured by Alpine). It sounded ok, but wouldn't play any CD that wasn't in pristine, as-new condition, so I replaced it with a new Alpine deck.

If anyone has a Reno II owner's manual that they would like to part with for fair compen$ation, I'd be interested.

Blaupunkt Symphony, still have the original manual. Looks a bit <img src="graemlins/icon501.gif" border="0" alt="[icon501]" /> really.
