Post Sunroof Problem

Won't shut! At front running width of S/R is a sprung strip of black metal which folds flat to allow S/R to close. A piece of black plastic has broken on passenger side (RHD Adrian!) so strip on this side does not fold flat preventing S/R closing. So I can only close S/R if friend is prepared to risk losing tip of his finger by pushing black strip down as I close S/R!

Can I replace this piece of black plastic easily or is it, as I suspect, a very involved fix?

Thanks in advance!

This same strip broke on my car two months ago. It broke aroudn the loop part, and was only $2 US or so from the dealer. Took about a minute to loosen one screw and replace. Easy and cheap fix. I don't have my PET catalog at this computer, but I'll try and dig out the part number when I get home and post it here.

Amazing!
every time I have a problem, I check this Forum and there it is! Mine broke,too- the right side at the loop. My dealer wanted about $25 for the part. Is there a source, other than my local dealer for such parts if I have the part number?
Many Thanks!

Part number is 91156412700. About $7.50US. Oddly enough, I just repaired mine not an hour ago. Porsche goofed when they made this part out of lightweight plastic. It usually breaks when you are traveling at 40+ miles per hour and you try to close the roof. The deflector struggles to fold forward and puts undue stress on the plastic runners, hence they break. Easy to replace and good luck.
