Third Brake Light - Replacement Options
When I purchased the C2 two months ago (jeez, time flies) - one of the first things I noticed (compared to the SC) was how the third brake light intrudes significantly on my rear view vision. With its mounted postion, and my seating position, I cannot see straight out, directly behind me. I have to move my head back and forth. Does anyone else have this problem?

Appears there are at least two alternatives - one is the rear window spoiler, with an integrated brake light, that spans the top of the rear window. But would that impair rear vision? The second option is the rear spoiler bar, with integrated brake light, that looks like a small arch above and over the rear stock spoiler.

Curious to know if anyone else has these rear vision problems and if you tried either of these options. Or are there others?

Sorry - I should have done a search first - there are several previous threads on this topic. Third option appears to be retro fitting the 993 brake light and rear window. Really expensive. And when you remove the 964's rear brake light, the black screening on the window remains - But one can see through it. Decisions, decisions.

Or, if you think you might take your C2 to the track, go ahead and install a rollbar, and the 3rd brake light will no longer be a problem

Chuck,
I have the high level spoiler/brake light and am very pleased with it. It doesn't impede rear vision but at night the rear pacel shelf glows red with the reflection when braking! Not really a problem and it is advised to stick a sun visor on the inside to minimise this (I haven't got round to this yet after about 1.5 years so doesn't bother me).
Good luck.
Richard.

I too have the third brake light spanning the top of the rear window. It works great but as is stated in the earlier post there is an issue with the red brake light glare shining into the rear seat. I never noticed it until I took the dark tint off the rear window. It's not that big an issue. No visability problems. Unfortunately there is the black "ring around the collar" where the old brake light used to be. Again... It was not that noticable until I removed the dark tint. (I had to remove the dark tint to pass state inspection.) I will probably re-tint in the Spring. The new brake light does look slick though... even with the "ring around the collar."
