Name of Paint Code L347 for 89/90-Dark Blue?
Hi Folks-
X-posting from the 993 board - I was wondering if any of you 89/90 owners had a paint code of L347, and what the Porsche name associated with it is? My 97 993 is a flat (non-metallic) dark blue, and dark blue may indeed be the name for it. Is that a special order? Does anone with that code have a window sticker with the name? Paintscratch.com refers to it as Dark Blue.
TIA,
Jim

The Porsche name for 347 is dark blue, paint touch-up applicator # is 911-095-932-20-347. The paint code is listed in Adrian's 964 book as a standard paint code and not special order.

Checked www.autovisuals.com (rennlist sponsor IIRC and good product) and they list it:
1990 PORSCHE L347 Dark Blue
as well.
1990 PORSCHE L347 Dark Blue
as well.

Its a great color too!
ltc - I have a couple of autovisuals pens and have never managed to get a decent result with them. Do you have a 'special' technique?

Yes, better results than I could previously obtain with OEM touchup paint and a toothpick. It all depends on the size of the chip....very small ones are good with the pen, although you do have to build it up slowly, takes a whole evening or so. A bigger chip is best serviced by 'filling in the crater' with the OEM paint/toothpick and then finishing off the top with the pen. I suppose the touchup (on a dark car) is still worth it, as it prevents you from seeing little white 'spots' in the paint.
If you're having trouble with the pen, I'd suggest contacting autovisuals...I think I once spoke to Laura....they were very helpful and sent me a new pen just to make sure.
