Hello all!

Just got my first p-car, the (88th in the USA) 1990 C2 CAB. Of course, the engine is leaking like crazy, it's got 100K miles, and there are several, um, "quirks" that will warrant many a weekend in my garage, $1000's in parts, tools, manuals, and "real mechanic" bills. I financed it as I did not have the money laying around, what with 2 young kids at home and being the sole bringer-home-of-bacon.

All that said, after driving it home from LA to SF California (many miles of interstate highway with nary a law enforcement officer in sight, hehehe), and to work a couple of days (the plan was "weekend car", we'll see when that happens), I must say, this is the most satisfying purchase I have ever made. I'm also very encouraged by the hundreds of posts I've read in this forum.

Cheers!
Chance Casey

Nice car; and you've already got it that pictures are required on the "new member" post.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your purchase.

For some reason your cab looks fantastic with the D90's and the flags.
My GP white coupe never had that look.

Good luck,
Colin

Welcome and congrats on joining the Porsche fold. If your car has a problem, someone on this board has probably had it too and will be able to help.

As has already been said. Welcome to the Rennlist family. The knowledge and experience of the people here can save you much time, money, and frustration. For the most part - if it can break and be fixed, someone here has already had that problem and will be willing to help.

The new car looks great - while you may have planned to use it as a weekend toy, you'll soon find it is far too much fine to drive so leaving it in the garage will be hard to do!

Welcome and congratulations on a gorgeous cab! Now what you have to do without further delay is get that car on hwy 35!! Whenever I forget WHY I love my 964 so much I simply drive along hwy35 and I am always amazed at how the car handles! TomW originally recommended I try this road and I've been forever grateful!

If you've never used the road before: Take 280 south and get onto hwy 92 towards Half Moon Bay, then take hwy 35 (Skyline) it twists and turns though the Santa Cruz Mountains and I have to say that its the best road I have ever driven on anywhere in the world! You can start early and stop for breakfast at Alice's Resturaunt then drive through Big Basin Park and down to Santa Cruz for lunch before driving back to SF along the coast on Hwy1!!

NOTE: This road is used by car and motorbike clubs at the weekend and the cops patrol. I went earlier this week( on a week-day) and there were NO cops to be seen. I would however advise a radar detector!
