I have a classic policy which is OK if you have another car with a regular policy running as classic policies don't provide cover for driving other vehicles,or cancellation or suspension rebates. As already mentioned, they aren't subject to NCB.
Cost is £456 p.a, £400XS, Chosen mileage limit 3000 miles, 41 years old.
Company is Norton Insurance: tel 0121 2466062

No affiliation blahh...

Hi all

I too insure through CIS and am sub £700.00PA, I'm 36 Live in Cambs an also have full NCB. No mileage limits and excess of £200.00. Only hassle is they do not cover track days at all!

Hope this helps!

If you are shopping around try Direct Line.

Did any of you guys tell the insurance companies about your modifications?!

As you ask...I could tell you but I'd have to kill you!

NU put a 15% "modified car" loading on my premium when I put the PSS-9 kit/RS bars on my 993, though there is no extra to pay for any exhaust mods I feel inclined to add. Mods to the engine or the brakes attract far higher loadings and some companies will not insure you. The temptation to keep quiet about mods is undeniable, but bear in mind that if you have a big accident the insurance company will be looking for any excuse not to pay out, if the damage assessor spots anything modified you may find your insurance is voided.
