Cool Vote For Your Favorite Image!

This weekend I took my C4 Cab out for a little fun with the local autocross club. We had a professional photographer there who shot lots of great photos of the cars & drivers. The proofs are posted on his web site so that car owners can order prints. I've violated a few copyright laws to share these proofs with you. (I'll get my karma back in check by buying a few prints from him!)

Now for the fun stuff - vote for your favorite picture!

#9. Personal prefererence - I don;t really like pictures with the horizon at a major angle - like pic 2, etc.
All the pictures are very good, though!
It's great to see another C4 cab guy putting his car through the paces!

No one liked 8? Great butt shot!

I think 9's probably the better head-on view ... fewer distractions or obstructions. I don't mind the angled shots but would prefer if they were skewed the other way (see avatar).

See if this photographer can get rid of that yellow tape in the background. I'm sure he'll want to charge you, but what was HE thinking setting up his shots with that crap in the background?

Thanks for sharing!

Firstly, nice car. Hey, its a 964, we've all got nice cars!! (Hooray!)

Personally, I think you can get better pics, so don't rush into buying prints. Sure, they're taken by a 'pro', but they aren't exceedingly well composed, don't give a true sense of the dynamics of pushing the car on the track... there's people standing around, cones (some knocked over) etc. Its just a bit haphazard..

Compare these to some of the shots in GT purely Porsche mag, where you will find some exceedingly good shots of P-cars.

Sorry to sound like a party-pooper, but wait until you get photos that do justice to your car.

I have to agree I would pass on those. The composition and angle just don't make for good pictures. Here are a couple I bought after a DE event at Silverstone.

As you can see my car is a near twin and DE rules are quite a bit more relaxed in the UK.

Cool

Bins & John those cones weren't knocked over. (Not that I haven't hit my share of cones over the years - sometimes going backwards in a cloud of tire smoke!) They are pointer cones purposely laid down on the track to help the drivers find the corners. In a sea of "vertical" cones and driving under the influence of the "red-mist" it can sometimes be hard to find the corners, especially for some our groups novice drivers.

I'll agree that these photos aren't going to make the cover of Panorama or Excellence. But seriously, I think the composition was probably the best considering the circumstances. We had well over 60 drivers, tents, race trailers and spectators. Given all the distractions and the relatively small venue, I think he did a great job.

I'm glad you guys in the group have enjoyed the photos. I had a blast driving and can't wait for the next event.

Should we all start posting great shots of our cars on the track, or AX? That could be fun - maybe a separate thread...

Clay,

Those are a couple of great shots! Without a rollbar in my cab I'm prohibited from participating in drivers ed events. That means I'm relagated to low speed parking lot events like autocrosses.

Jack - I love the way you're nearly lifting that right front. You can really see your suspension working - great photo!

Here's another shot from a recent PCA autocross.
