Post Alternator shaft

I have a 1989 964 and last week I ordered a new cooling fan hub because the bearing had failed. After obtaining a new hub I noticed the alternator shaft looks pretty worn and it appears the hub does not fit as tightly as I suspect it should fit. Does anyone have the specs showing what the diameter of the shaft should be? Also, if the shaft has been trashed do you have any suggestions?

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I don't have any alternator shaft specs that I know of...but if it is truly "eaten up" by your bearing locking up and the hub spinning on the shaft, well, that's where you're going to have to judge for yourself whether you need a new alternator or if the hub will slide on and tighten up to allow everything to still function properly.

READ AS: If the shaft is in fact "hosed", your best bet would be to just get a new/rebuilt alternator, vice looking to replace the shaft.

Can you post a picture of your alternator shaft??

I would say, without seeing it, if you can get the new bearing/hub all the way on and situated properly, you might be okay.
