I'll speak for my dad since he doesn't post here. He has a 93 C2, 84k miles. Extensive track use since 1998. No oil leaks, original clutch. The gearbox has has a leak (it's a little moist) which he is going to address when it's time to replace the clutch. Calipers were rebuilt in 2001. Other than that, just the normal services and oil changes, pads and a two sets of rotors.
Still waiting for him to sell it to me. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

1990 C4 Cab with 94k miles, including approx 60 DE days in last 3 years (equivalent, ~30 days w/2 drivers).
Major repairs include: Engine rebuild, clutch and flywheel (flywheel broke at Watkins Glen), replaced top, starter, battery.
Too many mods to list, but they were for performance or cosmetic reasons, not for repair.

After reading all the posts you higher mileage guys are putting up and reporting so few problems really shoots the "964 is a lemmon" idea right between the eyes!

139,431 Km (lots of miles) on a 964 C4
Apart from servicing:
New Oil Tank Cap,
New discs and pads,
New front wishbones,
New shock absorbers (Needed!)
New Spings (H&R Desired!)
New left front air bag sensor,
New bit of plastic under the rear spoiler
took me ages to work out what was scratching the paint)
New Clip for the Sun roof
On my shopping list:
Strut brace,
New plastic underneath the front Bumper (she's had the smile knocked off her face too many times)
Paint job...Stone chips!!!
The engine doesn't particularly use oil and has always had a nice covering of oil since the Oil Tank cap failed.

Wishbone replacement is a new one for me. What is happening here? How are they wearing and why do they require replacement? Do you replace them with stock or aftermarket parts?

Wishbones are fine...The rubber bushes wear out or perish giving you an undesired movement in the wishbones. Don't know if this is due to age or abuse.
Porsche, in their infinite wisdom, did not make the bushes a replaceable item - you have to buy expensive wishbones to replace a couple of 5 Euro rubber parts!!!!!
Maybe we should start an investigation into reconditioning 964 Wishbones - there must be someone out there doing it.

That certainly sounds like Porsche to me. Every model seems to have a required quota of little glitches and odd quirks. Apparently, the relatively low volume of 964s produced has not been sufficient to stimulate the aftermarket to build an improved replacement.
