I used Lancaster last year and did get a good price. But my renewal is in 6 days and I've switched (can't actually remember who to - RJ Specialist cars or something like that). They were £410 for 5K miles vs £570 for 6000 from Lancaster. The difference was just too great for me to stay with Lancaster.

Damn. I assume that's not on a classic policy though, and you have your full no claims applied? And you're 95 years old?

Full no claims bonus....no accidents or convictions (whiter than white!), 31 yrs old, £16,000 valuation on the car. Used elephant.co.uk to compare and Norwich Union Direct beat them after I produced the comparison quotation reference.

OK - I think that's the difference. I can't do full NCD because it's a second car.

I was with NU Direct until last year - when the renewal was due I'd changed the Porsche to a second car (from my main car) and the muppet on the end of the phone didn't understand the concept of a classic / 2nd car policy. He told me that because I no longer had NCD on the policy my renewal would be £2500.

Yeah.... goodbye!

Hmm - I wonder why your targa is £100 less than they quoted for my renewal. Guess I'm a bad risk!
