Spotted this for sale on ebay if anyone's interested.
Thanks, I'm interested and going back to the UK in two weeks time.

Pity I'm going to be bidding against fellow RennListers.

Looks like the bidding is going to be pretty active as the seller will ship to Canada and USA ...I think I will just watch this one play out

Marc if you get it, you may find a few Canadian Rennlisters knocking on your door

Wow, that thing has another 6 days to go, and it's already at $1,114.63 USD... looks like the seller will do pretty well...

OT sort of, but I never understand why people bid now... it just inflates the price...

Now the price of the hammer getting beyond what I'm prepared to pay, I'm thinking I might try and find a Bosch 9268 instead.

Does anyone have or use one? I know it only gives the codes, but that's all I'll really want.

Also any idea of prices?

Thanks

Look at the bidding. It's mostly ebay newbies bidding so far.

For those dollars, one can make a lot of trips to a mechanic who has one. Since I have a mechanic close by who has one, I'd rather spend that money on others baubles that my car seems to be demanding. Somewhat simillar to a high-maint girlfriend although I like it when I can hear the 964 talking.

Hiya
A buddy of mine was part of a panorama photo club . A box with photos was sent from member to member . When the box got to him he could remove his old panoramas and add in his latest . He could look at and review the other members shots .
I was thinking of a hammer club . One hammer thats all set up for 964s that just gets mailed around as needed . It would have no home . It would just live on the road , moveing from one members place to another when needed or requested .

I was going to bid up to $1300 for this one. They wanted a few hundred $$ to ship to the US. When I saw it go past $1400... I was done.

I'll get one eventually.

The 9268 is a flashing code tester, it will only read fault codes. The 9288 will read fault codes and actual sensor values. It also allows you to drive and activate just about anything electric in the car. So say if you wanted to test the left front mixing chamber servo you would connect to the CCU and use the arrow keys on the hammer to open and close it. Of if there is an issue with your foglights and highbeams flashing but your regular lights go out you could test each individually and bypass the switch on the steering wheel stalk. Or if you think there might be a problem with your ISV you can check its duty cycle, etc. Its a cool little toy to own but not $2000USD cool.
