My "garagemahal"...

I started working on my garage to organize all the s* that I have accumulated over the years, add the stuff that my father-in-law brought when they moved in with us and you have quite an awful amount of crap...
I got some cheap ceramic tile, some cheap cabinets, shelves, white panels, some 2x2’s and made some storage space and doors to cover the shelves… but still do not have the time to sort what stays and what goes… also, there is all the yard stuff… I can’t have a small shed so it has to be stored in the garage .
I better get cleaning before it looks anything like Nutbeem's...

Great feedback - actually, I'm in a similar situation to Rob - we just had a third baby, had to do a ton of crap to move around, new beds for the kids, and it all just got jammed in there. I've got a clean up job this weekend for sure.
It just cracked me up the other day when I opened the garage door and saw my car peeking out - just had to take a picture...

Your floor/garage floor could look like this:

If I had a camera my garage floors would been voted the worse up until lately. They're 2"X12"-16" (i.e. when a 2by was really 2" thick), 10 to 20 feet in length. My Dad got them from work, probably 50+ years ago. When I drop a small part it is usually lost for good or I find it years later in the cracks between the planks. But they are warmer in the winter than concrete and my Dad claimed it avoids flat spots on the tires when the car sat for extended periods of time. I dream of the day when my floor looks like Marc's even as they stand now. I have upgraded the floor lately with rubber conveyor belts but welding can get pretty smelly.

Okay, okay - I can see this is going to turn into a "battle of the floors"
No, really - would you not feel guilty working in a garage like that? I'd spend more time wiping up any drips as I went than fixing the car.
I already have regrets about the 21' oak bench I put in as it looks too darn nice. I find myself working on the floor so I don't scuff the bench top.
Jaime - so far I think you win on the "floor-mahal" competition. What are those? Ceramic tiles?
Marc
p.s. Love the new avatar! LOL!

There are folks here with nicer garages, they just seem to be shy about posting.
I wanted something like the photo from Griots Garage... but as the saying goes... 500.00 hard on with 5.00 in my pocket... so I ended up buying US$0.78 ceramic tiles... after rolling floor jacks, dropping tools, spilling oil, brake fluid, brake dust, etc… a simple hose, broom, or mop does the trick.
On the avatar, the wife started taking photos while I was working in the car. I found it to portrait my life with a 964. Always doing something to it whether it needs it or not.
Similar to your, and I quote:
lots of expensive and un-necessary mods....but it makes me happy!
