Anyone know part numbers for the so called "Big Black" front brake calipers? My understanding is that the 928 GTS front calipers are the same as the so called "Big Red" 3.6 Turbo type excepting they are black in color. If so part numbers would be 928.351.424.03 and 928.351.423.03, can anyone confirm if this is true? Thanks

Hi Cupcar!(Name?)
I have a 1991 911 Turbo and asked the tecnical leader in Porsche Club Sweden about front brake improvements. He told me to get the 3.6 Turbo/928 GTS (they are identical except for color). On my Turbo with original wheels it would be a easy, bolt on, no problem fix.
Remember that you will have to get the 3.6 Turbo brakedisks. The 964 3.3 Turbo brakedisks have a different "sweepwidth" (do not know the tecnical english word for it) 50mm on the 3.3 Turbo and 60mm on the 3.6 Turbo.
I have not changed my calipers and brakedisks to 3.6 Turbo style! I will first get Performance Friction Corporation (PFC) brakepads, new original brakedisks and new brakefluid. We will see if this is sufficient on the Nürburgring:-)
Hope this is of some help to you.

Differece between the Big Red and Big Black
is that the brake bleeder valve/nozzle are
"upside down " If you put a Big Red and Big black next to eack other, the nozzles will on top
on one and on the bottom on the other.
This is due to the way the calipers mount on the 3.6T/996TT and 928/944.
If you were to upgrade the brakes on a 944Turbo with the Big Reds, you would have to remove the nozzles and install them on the opposite side so that when you flip the caliper upside down( to
be mounted correctly)the bleeder nozzles will be on top. If one wants to avoid this, one can order the Big Blacks.
