Question Maritime Blue - only for the RS?

Maritime Blue has always been my favorite colour for the 964, but as far as I could tell, it was only available for the RS, and thus, sadly out of my budget.

Was Maritime Blue available as an option to cars other than the RS? If so, does anyone know how many were made/what year etc.

Thanks,

Andy

Of no help to you, but could someone post a pic of Maritime Blue? I can't visualise it.

The RSA was produced in three standard colors:
Color Code
Black A1A1
Guards Red G1G1
Grand Prix White P5P5

and two optional metalic colors:

Polar Silver Metallic A8A8 <---my car
Midnight Blue Metallic F8F8

Maritime Blue is not a standard color. It may have been produced with special wishes or paint to spec.

Marc,

Perhaps he was referring to the RS (Euro) and not the RSA (North America).

Joey,

Yep! That looks like Maritime Blue to me! Am I right in saying that it is not an RS(Euro) car? ie. Fog lights??

Those aren't foglights, Andy, they are blanking plates/reflectors. Compare them closely with the look of your own foglights.

I presume you were expecting the brake-cooling ducts in their place.

Unhappy

That's a '92 Euro RS. Evidently, maritime blue is not available for the budget-minded! <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

Rich:

Excellent observation. Should have put two and two together with the Andy's London local.

Andy:

Yes a great colour.

Q. What's better than an RSA?

A. An RS or a Cupcar!

I've seen Maritime Blue on the 993 and 968, as well as on 964 RS.

Here it is on a 993 C4S

As far as I can tell, it's always beena special order colour. I haven't found any record of it being a standard order colour. Not yet anyway.

Andy,
Maritime Blue was available from 1991 model onwards (38B) or so the manual states. As far as I'm aware you could have it on 'standard' cars as it's listed as a standard colour but have only seen it on the RS. My favourite to.

Sadly, along the way (about a year and a half back) it was resprayed some dark metallic blue colour after an accident!!!
