performance exhaust suggestions
I have a 93 911 RSA with a B&B exhaust.I want horse power gains but the B&B is way to loud.I like a strong throaty exhaust but this thing rattles the brain.
I also have teh B&B headers. I went with the Fabspeed muffler set up. It is advertised as being below the db limits of the strictest tracks. It may be a little loud with the 2 out, but the muffler allows you to cap off one outlet for a single out.
You can also install a motorcyle baffler into the exhaust piping between the muffler and exhaust tip to quiet it down.

if you look under Porsche on the right side then "Sportauspuff" and scroll down to :
GT - Auspuffanlage 964 komplett
there is a system that might fit your needs
In the page from FDV they have a similar set up.

A number of people around here who use the B&B headers (which some think are a wee bit too small on a 964) are using a Flowmaster 2-in 2-out muffler, and aren't running into trouble with the track noise police.
Surf, the Fabspeed muffler and B&B headers is a little loud with my targa top off. It has a very nice tone with the top on. The benefit to the Fabspeed muffler is it comes with a cap so you can R&R for dual exhaust when you feel a little more agressive. There is a small amount of droning in the cabin between 2600 - 2700 rpms, but not as bad as the B&B.
Also, keep in mind that B&B makes two sets of readily available header diameters that will fit the 964. Of those two you want the 1 3/4" OD, not the 1 5/8" OD which is used on the 3.2 and under. A larger size 1 7/8" can be purchased from B&B, but it is special order.
