ABS Light on
Having removed both front struts to change the springs this entailed disconnection of the wheel sensors and splitting of the brake pipes. I also replaced the short metal pipe from the flexible pipe to the callipers themselves.
The problem is the ABS warning light is on,warning chimes sounding and although pedal feel is normal and the car stops well the ABS physically is not working . Is this a fault in the hydraulic system (I used a one man pressure bleeder)or a fault in the wheel sensor connections?
Thanks

Dear Malc,
Before you do anything drastic you need to go to your nearest repair facility which has a Bosch Hammer. You need to have your ABS system reset. What has happened is quite rare but a danger even with a C2. I am sure you did not disconnect your battery or you turned power on whilst things were disconnected. If the system detects no pressure then it will be failed and remain so. The ABS light on during start and remaining on indicates a control unit lock out. I think it is nothing more serious than this. However you do need to bleed the ABS circuit if you split these pipes which I have a feeling you did. This requires the Bosch Hammer as well. You may actually have no, or not enough fluid sealed in the ABS circuit. Please remember that the ABS circuit is normally isolated from the rest of the brakes system. It is a pressure relieving system not a pressure application system.
