Oil leaks deterioriate plug wires
I've replaced my oil lines after a year of increasing leaks. About a year ago I started experiencing intermittent engine missing. Each time I would do something to attempt to solve problem, the missing would go away for awhile and then return. After much frustration, and increasing missing, I took it into a shop. 
The initial diagnosis was bad Hall Sensor. After reviewing posts from you kind members, my mechanic began to examine the other causes of such a fault reading. RFI interference from plug wires was a possibility. It turned out that the plug wires on the lower bank, right side were swollen from the previous oil leaks. I could not see that these wires were affected from looking for the problem. I had the wires replaced and the missing has been resolved.
The point is that a slow oil leak can have other effects on your car. The upper wires can look great and have no arcing. But the lower ones are not observable. They can be arcing and causing engine missing.
